First Trip to Australia: Arrived Down Under
Since the year end holiday period is coming and we are starting to plan for our family trip, my memory darted back to this period one year ago, when we were about to explore a new country that we has never visited: AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
All things considered, Australia is not very far from Singapore, where we live, so I still don’t know why we had been avoiding a visit to Down Under for so long. Not anymore. We finally plucked up our courage, committed ourselves to it by booking the tickets and accommodations, and when the day came, rolled our luggage down the tarmac, and 7 hours later, found ourselves in the land of koalas 🐨 and kangaroos 🦘
With 2 small kids in tow, we could not put ourselves through a very strenuous itinerary, and so, the first day was simply for reaching there, checking in, and celebrating with a good dinner. And so we did. Also, it helped that our accommodation was right in the heart of Sydney Chinatown, with lots of familiar food and amenities at our doorstep. That was the reason why we had HK style roasted meat for lunch and a hearty Korean style BBQ beef buffet dinner. Not very Australian, I know. But after all, just like Singapore, Australia is also a land of many races and cultures, so our food pick made perfect sense after all.
